Security Fencing in Georgetown, TX

Georgetown Metal Gates builds steel perimeter fencing for property managers, facility managers, general contractors and owners of yards and storage lots across Williamson County. Perimeter projects run from a 60 ft front and side run to a 200 ft perimeter run, and we phase the fence line around business hours so a yard stays staffed and secured while sections change.

Perimeter Fencing for Yards, Lots and Commercial Sites

A crew of 2 to 3 sets panels in sequence, and the old line stays up until the new section is welded in. We have finished 1,412 projects in 11 years, and security fencing work keeps the 3-year workmanship warranty on welds, hinges and gate travel.

From the first site walk and the sight-line review to the post layout and the final inspection, our team handles every part of a perimeter job. Serving Georgetown, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Leander and Sunset Valley, we schedule fence-line work for nights, weekends and the quiet hours of each operation.

Request a bid with your site plan, fence length and gate locations, and our estimator will walk the line and price the perimeter from what the walk shows.

What a Perimeter Fence Has to Stop

A perimeter fence earns its cost by stopping a specific kind of entry, so the first question is how someone would get over, under or through the current line. The table matches the common attempts to the fence feature that answers each.

AttemptWhat stops itWhere it shows
ClimbingAnti-climb steel panels with no horizontal rails to step onPanel face
CuttingHeavy-gauge pickets and rails welded, not wiredLine and corners
Prying a gateHinge guard and welded latch coverGate frame
Watching from outsideA see-through panel the owner can look throughWhole fence

A yard with a thin chain link perimeter that was cut twice is the clearest case for steel, because wire fails the same way each time. Steel panels keep the sight line open, so a corner lot where the old wood fence blocked the view down both streets gets its view back.

Every perimeter run starts from one fixed build, which we then lay out to the lot and its grade.

  • Metal: posts of 11-gauge to 3/16-inch, rails of 14-gauge and pickets of 16-gauge on everything we fabricate, heavy enough to resist a hand tool.
  • Corrosion: G90 hot-dip galvanized tube on posts and hollow rails so rust cannot start from the inside, which matters on a yard that sees rain, truck wash and standing water through the storm season.
  • Coating: multi-stage wash, zinc-phosphate primer and electrostatic polyester powder coat, 3 to 5 mils thick, so the finish holds up on a long fence line that nobody repaints every other year.
  • Footings: posts set 24 to 36 inches deep in concrete, sized to the soil on the lot, with the depth confirmed on the walk and again before any concrete is poured.
  • Grade: rackable panels follow a slope; steps are used where the grade is too steep to rack, which keeps the bottom gap small on uneven ground.
  • Spacing: 3.5 to 3.875 inches clear between pickets, which also limits hand holds for anyone who tries to climb the line.
  • Top detail: spear, triad, flare, fleur-de-lis or flat-top finials, chosen per lot and per city rule, with a plain flat-top where a spear point is not allowed or wanted by the owner.

A perimeter bid is an estimate built from the fence length, the grade, the number of gates and how much old fence has to come out. The table shows the fence types we bid most, priced per linear foot as an estimated range.

Most security fencing jobs are billed as a 50% deposit, a 25 to 40% progress draw and a final 10 to 25% when commissioning is done. These figures are budgetary estimates, subject to change, and the written quote we issue after measuring the line and walking the lot sets the final price and the schedule.

A yard with a thin chain link perimeter that was cut twice

Investment and duration figures are estimates. Your written quote sets the final price and schedule.

Xavier's property in Sunset Valley, on Jones Road, had a yard with a thin chain link perimeter that was cut twice. We replaced it with a 200 ft perimeter run of anti-climb steel panels with spacing under four inches and a hinge guard on the gate. The work took an estimated 3 to 4 days at an estimated $11,500 to $15,000, and the owner can see through the new line, which was a requirement.

How a Perimeter Job Runs

The estimator measures the line and flags the corners, the gates and any easement. Panels are fabricated and coated in our shop while the 811 locate is called in, and posts go in on the marked line. The old fence comes out one section at a time as each new section is welded and checked. Before closeout we walk the line with the owner for gaps, sag and loose latches.

Phasing Around Operations

A working yard cannot have an open side, so we change the line in sections and close each one before the next opens. In Serenada and Steiner Ranch the owner keeps a staffed gate while the neighboring run is replaced. A corner lot where the old wood fence blocked the view down both streets is the other case, because moving to a see-through panel changes the sight lines, so a 25 ft sight triangle is checked before posts are set. Where a fence line crosses an easement, the city requires a separate encroachment approval.

Why Owners and Managers Choose Us

Owners and managers choose us because one team fabricates the fence, sets the posts and builds the gate. A 3-year workmanship warranty that covers welds, hinge alignment, gate sag and gate travel applies to the work we control, so a crew with 11 years and over 1,412 projects behind it returns to correct a weld or a sag. After the install, a recurring gate service plan keeps the hinge, the latch and the sensors on a perimeter gate checked on a regular visit.

Perimeter Service Areas

We install perimeter fencing inside a 45-mile radius of Georgetown, including Cedar Park, Leander, Rollingwood, Lost Creek and West Lake Hills. Work near the Old Town overlay in Round Rock and off Brodie Lane in Sunset Valley has taught us how each review treats a street-facing fence. The full list of cities we serve sits on the home page, Georgetown Metal Gates.

Other Services for Property Managers

Commercial gates covers the vehicle entries along a fence line. Resident entries are covered on the HOA, gated community and multifamily entry systems page. Gate maintenance and service contracts cover the gates on a perimeter.

Questions About Security and Perimeter Fencing

What makes a fence anti-climb?

Anti-climb steel panels have no horizontal rails to step on and spacing tight enough to block foot and hand holds, as on the 200 ft perimeter run in Sunset Valley.

Can I see through a security fence?

Yes. A steel panel run has open spacing, so the owner and patrols can look through it, which a solid wall does not allow.

How is perimeter fencing priced?

We price per linear foot, and welded ornamental fence is an estimated $50 to $85 a linear foot. The written quote after we measure the line sets the final price.

Can the fence be installed while we operate?

Yes. We replace the line in sections and close each section before the next one opens, so the yard stays secured throughout.

Does a gate in the fence need a guard?

Yes. A hinge guard covers the pivot point, and monitored photo eyes plus edge sensors on every automatic gate protect anyone near an automatic leaf.

Who calls in the utility locate?

Texas law requires notice before excavation, so we place the 811 request, and the owner pays for any private locate on the property.

What warranty covers a perimeter fence?

Welds, hinge alignment, gate sag and gate travel are covered for 3 years under our workmanship warranty. Powder coat and parts carry the maker's own terms.
